Denis Rovira is at the forefront of the new generation of Spanish genre filmmakers. He is known for his trilogy of psychological thrillers The Faucet (2010), Lazarus Taxon (2008) and Angel (2003). These films have competed in hundreds of festivals around the world winning over twenty five national and international awards (including Rhode Island, Atlanta, Elche, Curtocircuito, Islantilla, Cans, Aguilar de Campoo and Islantilla) and garnering numerous accolades, among them seven nominations for the prestigious Silver Meliès Award.
As one of the Spain´s leading commercials directors he has ten years of experience filming over one hundred fifty ads for top brands such as Samsung, HP, Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Vodafone, Canal +, Unilever, Lifecell or Hotels.com and has worked with top level international agencies like Cheil, Mc Cann, DDB, Grey, Leo Burnett, Young & Rubicam. He has won two Effie Awards, and shorlisted in Cannes, Iberoamerican Eye, Creative Circle and many more.
He is tri-lingual in English, Spanish and Catalan and has significant experience shooting internationally in countries including the USA, Germany, Russia, Ukraine, Romania, UAE, Hungary, Greece, Mexico and more recently Asia. He studied directing and screenwriting at the world renowned UCLA Film School in Los Angeles.
He is currently preparing his debut feature film titled “The Influence”, an adaptation of a supernatural thriller book by Ramsey Campbell.
